Evaluate Web Sources

Once you've completed your research, you will need to select which items you will use in your paper. As you select information, you should evaluate it based on its usefulness. Bear in mind that not all information is accurate, credible and/or timely.

Information found in your library and in library databases has been selected by library staff and tends to come from reliable sources. Even so, it should be evaluated carefully. World Wide Web information varies from very useful to completely wrong.

You should evaluate the information based on some common sense criteria. To help you evaluate your information, select the appropriate information type from the left. The institution responsible for the information is listed below the type of the information.
