TOP TEN ARTICLE DATABASES

These databases, listed in subject order, are the most used by students to find articles for research papers. To use the database, click on the database name, log in with the 14 digit number from your activated PJC ID card and the last 4 numbers of your Social Security number, then click Connect to Database. The search screen for the database will appear.

Argumentative/Controversial Issues

Opposing Viewpoints (Gale) More Info Presents issues in a pro/con format from a variety of sources. Articles come from the Greenhaven Press social issues series and from a number of magazines, academic journals, newspapers and other reference sources. America's Newspapers (NewsBank) More Info America's Newspapers (NewsBank) - Accesses full-text articles from over 700 U.S. newspapers. Includes articles from The New York Times from 2000 forward. Articles from Florida newspapers, including the Pensacola News Journal from 1999 forward, can be searched separately or as part of the entire database. Citing

CINAHL (EBSCOhost) More Info Provides indexing for 1,835 journals from the fields of nursing, biomedicine, health sciences librarianship, alternative/complementary medicine, consumer health and 17 allied health disciplines. Psychology

PsychArticles (EBSCOhost) More Info Provides full-text, peer-reviewed scholarly and scientific articles in psychology. It contains more than 122,000 articles from 60 journals - 49 published by the American Psychological Association (APA) and 11 from allied organizations. It includes all journal articles, letters to the editor, and errata from each journal. Coverage spans 1894 to present. Uses APA's Thesaurus of Psychological Index Terms®.
