Ask-A-Librarian/E-Mail Reference Guidelines

PJC's Ask-A-Librarian provides limited E-Mail Reference service as an alternative to in-person or telephone reference (850-484-2006). More in-depth service is given to those who come to the LRC's Reference Desk.

E-Mail Reference includes:

• quick answers to brief questions:
  checking citations, locating addresses to organizations, verifying publisher of a book or journal, checking library holdings
  
• suggestions for research strategies for assignments and papers
  
• referrals, as appropriate
  

E-Mail Reference does not include:

• Requesting Library Materials
• Interlibrary Loan Requests
• Scheduling LRC Tours
• Placing Library Materials on Reserve

Turn around

Reference staff aim to provide an initial reponse within 24 (twenty-four) hours, excluding weekends and college holidays.
